Ken Harris Management Consultant
Ken Harris is a successful management consultant who for over 25 years has worked across a wide variety of industry sectors, advising businesses, public and non-profit organizations. He manages major consulting projects, consultant project teams, develops best business practice materials, and facilitates management development and training workshops. Ken is an internationally qualified "Certified Management Consultant" - CMC - The highest level of accreditation from the
Institute of Management Consultants.
He is also a member of the
Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.
Ken was born and raised in Scotland and gained his early management experience in the UK corporate environment. He has worked in a broad range of management roles including human resources, sales, business development and operational management, progressing to senior positions managing multiple business units and several hundred people. Ken is a management consultant who works at a strategic level across a wide range of disciplines providing business advice, business development, coaching, and management training. His consultancy experience of over 25 years includes 5 years in executive recruitment consultancy, 2 years in general consultancy with Price Waterhouse UK and NZ, and in his own company, Harris Management Solutions, for the past 18 years up to the present time. His aim in developing this website is to reach out to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) throughout the world and support their growth and development through online access to proven business advice and management tools that form the core competences for successful business. Although large corporate organizations are often held up as exemplars of best practice and good management, Ken has found that this is often not the case, particularly so in times of rapid change when they tend to be slow to respond to new circumstances. Smaller enterprises can be more agile and flexible in their thinking and can often win a competitive advantage over larger businesses in the same market. Often ignored by governments and academics, SMEs are the true engine of enterprise and the future for job growth and prosperity. Having gathered such an extensive range of experience, consulting techniques and management resources, Ken is enthusiastic about helping small to medium sized enterprises to grow and develop, by facilitating access to information, advice, business tools and techniques online. Over the years, he has seen many SMEs struggle with survival and growth where, with some good systems, structures and guidance at the right time, they could grow into successful enterprises.
